I grew up in a small rural town in central Florida. The son of a small business owner and school teacher, I left Florida and joined the Army. During my time in the military, I was deployed to Afghanistan where I served in Operation Anaconda in 2002, and I later deployed to east Africa in 2003 in support of a joint task force operation at Camp Lemonnier in Djibouti, Africa.  After the military, I finished my B.A. in Communication from University of South Florida in 2006, and spent a couple of years as an over-the-road truck driver, before coming to southern Illinois in 2008 to attend law school at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.

Throughout my 15 years in practice, I have handled countless personal injury and criminal defense matters, as well as a good number of probate, family court, and other civil matters. Since 2020, I have focused a large share of my practice on helping people get their FOID cards and Conceal Carry Licenses (CCL) restored after a denial or revocation by Illinois State Police. In doing so, I also frequently help people clean-up their messy criminal records through sealing or expunging old charges.
